{And…nom on the yumminess}

If I see another turkey meatball, I’m going to hurl myself off the Rickenbacker Causeway with cinder blocks tied to my ankles. No, really. You see, between my current rotation of tried-and-true home-cooked meals for my family (turkey meatballs, stuffed peppers, chicken fajitas and repeat), I got sick and tired of the same ol’, same ol’. One day, I saw Blue Apron on my friend’s Instagram feed and was gobsmacked. The next week, the fresh-ingredients-to-your-door service was on Gilt and I bought it at half the price (winning!).

Unlike other food delivery services, Blue Apron mails you three uncooked meals for two people ($10 each meal). Fresh fruits, veggies, spices and protein are mailed to your door in a refrigerated box (see picture above to see what I mean). All you have to do is prepare and cook each meal which, bible, tastes so good, it makes me wanna smack yo’ mama.

Pictured here is my first meal — Korean Stir-Fried Beef Chapchae. It’s something I would never fathom cooking on my own accord, so that notion in itself is of note. Next, said recipe required exotic spices such as Gochugaru, sweet potato vermicelli noodles and ginger — again, ingredients I would never buy on my own. I whipped up this dish in 30 minutes and it was enough to feed my family of four. All of us loved it — especially since it was something novel and delicious. Change is good!

Just thought I’d share this new found gem with you — just in case you, too, suffer “I have nothing to cook” syndrome.
