{Lady Liberty one piece c/o Island State Swimwear}
{An aerial view of Cat Cay, Bahamas}
In an earnest effort to make 2014 “the most vacationed year of them all,” I hit the high seas this past Fourth of July weekend (where I kicked back in this oh-so-appropriately patriotic Statue of Liberty swimsuit) and beelined for Cat Cay. Just an hour and half away by boat, this private island in the Bahamas has got it all — clear waters, long stretches of beaches, conch fritters, superfluous sting ray and starfish sightings and year-round sunny weather.
And thanks to its members-only status, you won’t find boats blasting tiki tiki/reggaeton music and throngs of g-string thongs. PRAISE BE TO JESUS. Sue me for being uppity, but when it comes to traveling, The Wordy Girl does not play. And neither should you because you only live once and tiki tiki music and proper vacations are like Solange Knowles and Jay Z in confined spaces — meaning they don’t mix well, obvi.
I hope you enjoy these pics which sum up this sliver paradise in a way my words simply cannot relay — and yes, I handplucked those cyclopean starfish in the first picture. I know, who Jacques Cousteau of me!
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
