Let’s Go For A Ride, Miami!

How amazingly nerdy is the picture above of me rocking a helmet while I bike? I now, it’s everything. Safety first, freaks!

In keeping with said bicycle-loving captured life moment, I’d like to invite YOU to the super cool (and green!) Citi Bike takeover in Miami. Yes, I’ll be cruising into the Bayfront Park Promenade (301 Biscayne Blvd.) this Saturday, Dec. 13th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

While you’ve probably spotted these blue-hued bad boys peppered throughout the 305, Citi Bike is a novel bike-sharing program. The 411? The Citi Bike system features tons of bikes at a spate of stations around Miami and they’re available 24/7, 365 days a year. Station locations are based on population and transit needs, and were selected through a participatory public input process. Each station has a touchscreen kiosk, a map of the service area and surrounding neighborhood, and a docking system that releases bikes for rental with a card or key. Brilliant, I tell you.

And we’ll be celebrating the launch of Citi Bike Miami this weekend — there will be exclusive giveaways, test rides and complimentary food and entertainment. I hope to see you there, kids!

Today’s conversation is brought to you by Citi Bike. All opinions are my own, naturally. Photos by Collin Hughes
