Read This: And The Mountains Echoed

me

Mortifying confession: I haven’t picked up a book in six months.

(Insert behemothic sigh of disbelief here and then virtually slap me in the face for being a sloth.)

Coming from a gal who used to clock three books a month, I can’t exactly pinpoint where things went terribly wrong in the bibliophile department, but the good news? The book nerd in me is ba-ack.

And I want to share my latest read with you because it’s the best tome since Gone Girl. Currently on my nightstand you’ll find Khaled Hosseini’s And The Mountains Echoed. If the author’s name sounds familiar to you, he penned The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns — which are equally spectacular.

In typical Khaled form, this particular novel is much like an exquisite piece of classical music — both painfully sad yet uplifting at the same time. Based in war-torn Kabul, the book touches on love, poverty, senseless murders, sexuality and the irrevocable bond between siblings. Without giving away too much, I cannot put this book down and am almost done reading it after three nights!

So do your cerebrum a favor and read this book. It’s ah-may-zun.

And when I’m done with this puppy, do you have and reccos for me?

I haven’t picked up any books either…mostly because you haven’t recommended any…until now.

Thanks for the recc! I just finished Dan Brown, “Inferno”…in amazing Dan Brown fashion–it kept me going until the end. Especially, if you’ve travelled and know the places he’s writing about. XO

Just finished And THe Mountains Echoed. I really liked it. If you loved Cutting For Stone you will enjoy Constellation of Vital Phenonena. It’s very good! Also, if you!re a fan if Gone Girl, Reconstructing Amelia was also very good! Happy reading-

Annabellllaaallla…Shel Silverstein is a God. But we need to discuss his author’s photo on the back of his books. SERIAL KILLER.
