Nutella, cashmere, cooler temperatures, the beach, strong Cosmopolitans, reruns of Dateline — these are a few of my favorite things. Topping that list are Aquazzura’s shoe designs because they’re both stunning and comfortable (imagine that genius concept!). I own several pairs and when asked to co-host a personal appearance with the brand’s designer, Edgardo Osorio, at Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour Shops alongside my friend Martha De Lima (thanks, Martha & Gotmar!) I was all LIKE, “Hell-t0-the-yes. I’m dying to meet the reigning Shoe King.”

The night was the thing of dreams. I got to chat up Edgardo who is so ADORABLE (I mean, look at his perfectly coiffed hairdo, gorgeous teeth and sensational shoes…I DIE) and really down-to-earth. He was born in Colombia, raised between Miami and London and currently lives in Florence, Italy. A ton of my friends came out to support and we got to catch up on our kids, dramz and complaining about the current heated political climate.

On my way home, I popped into a McDonald’s drive thru like a completely starved American psycho (such is life — one minute you’re hamming it up with an internationally known designer and the next you’re slaking your chicken McNugget thirst) and I teared up. It got me thinking how this blog has connected me with people I admire from afar.

It got me ruminating that how when you dream big, work hard and never stop believing…anything is possible. My apologies for sounding all Oprah Winfrey and such on you all, but  this snarky chick gets sentimental sometimes (and in a fast food drive-thru, no less!) and I’m so very thankful for your readership.
