Black & Blue

Friends! I’m back from a weekend jaunt to Bakers Bay, Bahamas (will blog that gem soon) and now find myself (once again) drowning in a sea of work-related emails, voicemails and text messages (namely from my mom demanding where I am, if I’m alive, if the kids survived their first boat trip to the Bahamas, and if I wouldn’t mind picking up her mail). 

Gotta love mom and her mama bear ways. And now that I’m a mother, I understand her constant state of paranoia because I, too, find myself worrying about my kids on a psychotically not-normal basis. 

Things I go mental about (in no particular order): My son’s food allergies. Packing lunches. Planning playdates for my daughter. The endless reams of laundry. Bath time (it just so happens they’re both acutely allergic to showering AKA they HATE IT and bath time is a veritable war every evening). Cooking dinner (did I mention they only find plain spaghetti edible?). Too much time on the iPad. Too little time outdoors. Picking up after themselves. Good manners. Drop off and pick up (parenthood immediately renders one to be an Uber driver — minus the pay). THE MESSES they create (I found a syrupy waffle under the couch last Thursday). I suppose the latter explains our gnarly ant “problem.”

I could go on and on and on like a CVS receipt but I feel bad seeing as I’m not paying you for this particular therapy session.  

Anyhoo, I am feeling my new LBD from Wolford (pictured here). I rarely wear black but am warming up to this much-loved hue. The fabric of this dress is super stretchy and figure flattering — simply perfect for this mama!
