Red, White and Blue without Looking Too Freakishly Patriotic

Seeing as this weekend was a total bust, I decided to share a throwback outfit with you kids taken in July by my friend LEGs (that stands for Lauren Elizabeth Guthrie, fyi) who happens to own 50% of this outfit. Sharing is caring, freaks. 

I feel like every fashion-obsessed person needs a LEGs in their life. You know, the kind of friend you can psychotically text at 2 in the morning inanities such as, “I neeeed a Rick Owens moto jacket so badly that my left ovary hurts.” Or, “I’m in the market for new shades, hook a sister up with a link to buy.” Or, “Who makes the best Fall leather skinny jeans? GOOOO!” And, “Isabel Marant sneakers — worth the spurge or sayonara?” You know you have a friend like this on speed dial. Don’t lie to me.

LEGs is like my personal Rachel Zoe. I can always count on her to keep me in the loop because she has crazy cool style and is 10 years younger than me. Which leads me to my next point: Everyone should have a younger confidant in their lives. They’re full of vibrant life, useful information and off-the-beaten-path advice. While age is just a number, the young folk keep us older peeps in the loop. And they have killer wardrobes to loot to boot.
